The lodge is set as a gatehouse at the entrance to Sullingstead. The lodge is significant in its own right, the building having won an award when it was first built. The Lodge is unique and features a round turret which houses the staircase, the external appearance is rendered. However the house was outdated and in need of refurbishment and repair. The brief for the project was that it was staff accommodation and therefore although it was to look modern internally it must be robust and timeless.
Liberty Rose Architects worked with the client, staff and contractor to make minor internal layout alterations which would modernise the house and make it more suitable for todays living and then we worked closely with the client to specify the finishes throughout. We visited site during the works to resolve any unforeseen problems and ensure the finish was to the highest standard.
