Liberty Rose Architects are currently working with The Royal Welsh Regimental Museum to review the current museum and provide options for its modernisation and improvement.
The Museum tells the fascinating story of some of the British army’s most famous regiments. The Royal Welsh is comprised of antecedent regiments which, through amalgamations, has made it what it is today. This history, dates back to the late 1680s, and is told through many kinds of objects including uniforms, medals, weapons and models. The museum also has one of the largest exhibitions relating to the Zulu war.
Although interesting the museum is outdated and has issues relating to its access and flow. Furthermore the museum requires additional exhibition space and the committee are keen to introduce other facilities for its visitors including a temporary exhibition space and cafe.
This project is still in the early stages but once an option has been agreed the museum will seek funding to undertake the work.
